Welcome to SNMA Region I

Welcome to Mighty Region I,

Our region covers one of the largest territories of the Student National Medical Association, including 10 states with 18 chapters. Though chapters are widespread and numbers are small, our chapters are very diverse and bring unique characteristics to the region.

The executive board and members of Region I are working diligently to carry out the mission of SNMA!

In Region I we are responsible for many community service programs, which serve to improve health services and education in our communities. In an effort to support our local leaders, our region also hosts an annual leadership development meeting for all chapter and regional officers. By offering premedical scholarships to students applying for medical school and community service grants in support of our local medical schools, SNMA Region I continues to strengthen minority physicians in training and the communities we serve.

One of the Region’s largest undertakings is our annual conference! Our goal is to empower both pre-medical and medical students through a variety of workshops, empowering speakers, networking opportunities, and community outreach events. Please see the “Conference" tab for more information.

Region I is always looking for dedicated individuals to help carry out the mission of SNMA. If you are interested in serving Region I, please click the "Leadership" tab and then click the "Meet the Regional Executive Board" link. You will find a link to the email address for each officer who can provide you with information on their duties and responsibilities.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me at region1director@snma.org.

Yours in SNMA,

Jennifer J. Parker
