Regional Leadership Program
Regional Leadership Program

The Regional Alliance for Leadership Development (Regional Alliance) is region-wide leadership initiative designed to provide motivated students in the ten regions to learn more about SNMA, develop leadership skills, connect with past and current regional officers and engage in personal and professional growth. Each participant, named a Regional Intern, demonstrates a year-long commitment to the program through a longitudinal regional project designed to support the goals and initiatives of each respective region.

The program selects at least one (1) medical student to represent each region with premedical students also considered for selection. With guidance of the Regional Director and support from the Regional Liaison, Regional Interns design and implement a year-long project to enhance a programmatic initiative or address a business entity. Interns are required to participate in three (5) lecture presentations, submit monthly project reports, join two (2) formal project progress meetings and give a final project presentation. The primary focus for the Regional Alliance for Leadership Development is to promote engagement on specific regional projects, provide individual leadership mentorship and to introduce consideration for future regional leadership.

Regional Alliance Fellows participate in an engaging curriculum where they will:

·Develop leadership skills and gain proficiency project development

·Join in webinar presentations on SNMA-specific topics and leadership acumen

·Engage in a regional leadership project in a specific area of interest

·Receive mentorship from SNMA regional officers and national officers

·Consider future SNMA leadership on the chapter, regional or national level

The Regional Alliance for Leadership Development Application for the 2021-2022 year opens on Monday, July 5TH. Please check back here for more details
