Physician Research Initiative

The Physician-Researcher Initiative (PRI) was initially developed in 2007 to encourage entrance into academic medicine. PRI educates the members about careers in academic medicine, as well as establish a network of mentors that will initiate and enhance students' research experiences.

To achieve this goal, an educational track is offered each year during SNMA’s Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) where participants are afforded the opportunity to present their research in the Dr. Wilbert C. Jordan Research Forum to network with peers, as well as with leading physician researchers. Participants learn about grant writing, navigating academic medicine, and the role for physician researchers in combating health disparities.
