Welcome to Region IXWelcome to the ‘Lifeline’ Region IX of the Student National Medical Association. My name is Brianna Mosley and I am the Region IX Director for 2023-2025. I am a medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Harlem, NY Campus. It is my greatest honor to serve the great 22 SNMA and 31 MAPS chapters of New York and New Jersey. The theme for my agenda this year is Lifeline Docs: Strengthening our foundation. A Lifeline according to Meriam Webster is something regarded as indispensable for the maintaining or protection of life. The future doctors of Region 9 are lifelines to their communities, schools and homes. These students work tirelessly to serve the underserved and to become the doctors that this nation needs. In alignment with SNMA’s mission, my dedicated team and I aim to provide an array of resources, educational opportunities and networking platforms that empower our members to thrive in their medical journeys. My goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters growth, mentorship, and professional development for ALL region 9 members. Moreover, we are actively seeking partnerships and sponsorships to further enhance the offerings and opportunities available to our members. The vision is that the progress we make this year is sustainable for years to come. I invite you to get involved and reap the benefits of membership in the Student National Medical Association.
